What We Believe

The Word of God

We believe the Authorized King James Bible is the only and all-sufficient guide to faith and practice. We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, preserved, and authoritative Word of God. By “Holy Bible,” we mean the sixty-six books, from Genesis to Revelation, which were written and providentially preserved in the Authorized King James Version published in 1611. The Bible not only contains and conveys the Word of God but is the very Word of God. By “inspiration,” we mean the Holy Spirit moved holy men of old so that their writings were supernaturally and verbally inspired, being free from error, as no other writings have ever been. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning. We believe the Holy Spirit may reveal to any believer the understanding of the Bible.

Jesus Christ

Jesus is the second person in the Trinity. He was conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of Mary, allowing Him to have a virgin birth as foretold in the Old Testament. He is equally God. It is because of Him that we have a mediator to God the Father. He died on the cross for the sins of all men and was buried for three days. He resurrected from the dead, becoming our perfect sacrifice for sin.

Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 23-24

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person. He is equal with God the Son, and God the Father. He was present during creation, and He convicts you of sin when you are doing wrong. He guides and teaches, witnesses and helps the believer once he has accepted Christ.

Salvation

The salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, through the meditation of the Son of God, who by the Holy Spirit was born of the Virgin Mary and took upon Him our nature, yet without sin; honored the divine law by His personal obedience and made atonement for our sins by His death. Being risen from the dead, He is now enthroned in Heaven and uniting in His person the tenderest sympathies with divine perfections. He is in every way qualified to be a compassionate and all-sufficient Savior.

Romans 3:10-23; Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23; Romans 5:8; Romans 10:9-13; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; Revelation 3:20

The blessings of salvation are made free to all by the gospel. It is the duty of all to accept them by penitent and obedient faith. Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner except his own voluntary refusal to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Isaiah 55:1; John 3:16-19,36

Civil Government

We believe that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions:  1) the home, 2) the church, and 3) the state.  Every person is subject to these authorities, but all (including the authorities themselves) are answerable to God and governed by His Word.  God has given each institution specific Biblical responsibilities and balanced those responsibilities with the understanding that no institution has the right to infringe upon the other.  The home, the church, and the state are equal and sovereign in their respective Biblically assigned spheres of responsibility under God.  We believe that we must obey the state unless it requires us to act contrary to our faith at which time we must obey God rather than the state.

Abortion

We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, inexcusable taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the mental well-being of the mother are acceptable.
